Bebe Rexha is opening up about her mental health.
The 31-year-old “Sacrifice” singer got candid about her bipolar disorder diagnosis in an interview with People.
The superstar, who just dropped her new album Better Mistakes on Friday (May 7), got candid about what she’s learned from living with the disorder.
Find out what she said…
“I’ve learned that you have to be your own cheerleader. I wish I would’ve known that 10 years ago. If you don’t love yourself, who the f—k will?” she explained.
“It’s a part of me I am constantly dealing with. It’s tough,” she went on to say, adding that she’s learned to deal with it using medication and “a lot of therapy.”
“Sometimes putting it in a song normalizes it for me. It’s just my truth,” she added, referencing her album opener “Break My Heart Myself,” which references her struggle with mental health.
She also talked about who she’s relied on – her family, as well as boyfriend Keyan Safyari – to navigate life.
“I’m in such a better place in my life. I feel so much more free and at peace,” she says.
