Chris Brown is reportedly under investigation for battery.

The 32-year-old was named a suspect in a battery report filed over the weekend in San Fernando Valley, according to TMZ.

The website cites law enforcement sources as saying police responded to Brown’s home in the area, where a woman alleged that she was slapped by the singer.

The alleges assault made part of the woman’s weave come out; she had no injuries.

No arrests were made, but police took a batter report following the alleged incident, which could result in a misdemeanour charge.

Brown and his reps have yet to comment publicly on the allegations.

However, the Forever singer’s latest Instagram story read: ‘Y’all so damn [cap emoji]’ – cap meaning ‘lying’ or ‘faking’ – followed by laughing emojis.

The star has also been promoting his new single with Wale, Angles.

Police had visited Brown’s San Fernando Valley home last month in relation to the singer throwing a huge party to mark his 32nd birthday.

Officers responded to multiple calls about loud music and cars around the neighbourhood, and spoke to Brown’s security at around 2am.

Between 400 and 500 guests left the house after the music was turned down, while parking tickets were issues to improperly parked cars.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Brown’s reps for comment, as well as the San Fernando Valley police.
