Myles Stephenson is set to become a dad, as he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child together.

The Rak-Su star has been dating his girlfriend, who’s not in the public eye, for a year.

Myles’ rep confirmed the news to Metro.co.uk, adding: ‘Myles is delighted to share the happy news and is looking forward to becoming a parent and welcoming his first child.’

A source added to The Sun: ‘Myles is buzzing and is getting his house ready for the new arrival and he’s really family-orientated and feels ready to be a dad. Family means everything to him.’

Myles, 29, was hospitalised last year after a horror accident while snowboarding.

The accident, which left him with a ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, broken ribs and concussion, is thought to make the prospect of becoming a dad all the more meaningful for him.

The insider said: ‘After a snowboarding accident resulted in a near-death injury, becoming a new parent is even more meaningful for Myles. He is now fighting fit and excited for the future.’

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Myles after his father was hospitalised with coronavirus, with the singer asking his fans to pray for him.

However, the star recently shared the happy news that his dad had come home after 22 days of treatment.

Sharing a snap of his dad flashing a thumbs up, Myles penned: ’22 days in HDU he is now coming home!

‘He refused a induced coma and ventilator which he didn’t tell us because he knew we would follow the doctors requests. Doctors also told step mum he had a near heart attack!

‘Nevertheless he is coming home. Thank everybody that prayed and messaged me your concerns. Your daily check ups made it easier to get through the days!’

Myles first shot to fame when he and his Rak-Su bandmates, Jamal Shurland, Mustafa Rahimtulla, and Ashley Fongho won The X Factor in 2017.

However, Mustafa recently announced he would be taking a break from the band for his mental health.

The band explained the news to fans in a video, with Jamal saying that ‘the door will always be open for him to come back.’

‘It’s his story to tell so there’s a limit to how far we’re going to go,’ the rapper continued.
