WWE Extreme Rules live results and analysis

What a difference a year makes. In July 2020, Extreme Rules was labeled a “Horror Show,” largely took place in the WWE Performance Center with no fans and featured both an “eye for an eye” match in which an opponent was meant to pluck their opponent’s eye out and a cinematic match in a swamp.

Fourteen months later, Extreme Rules is set to take place in front of a capacity crowd at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Outside of an Extreme Rules match for the Universal championship between Roman Reigns and Finn Balor, there aren’t any stipulations to speak of. Becky Lynch is set to (probably) have her first televised match that goes beyond 26 seconds since returning, as she defends her SmackDown women’s championship against former champ Bianca Belair.

Two of the most prolific Raw women’s champions in that title’s history square off as well, as Charlotte Flair looks to fend off Alexa Bliss. The United States championship and SmackDown tag team titles will also be on the line Sunday night.

Follow along throughout the night as we break down the action, match by match.
