EA Sports has made a late clarification to a specific FIFA 22 OTW Ultimate Edition pre-order bonus, leaving FUT players far from happy.

The Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22 comes at a higher price tag due to having a number of bonuses, including four-day early access, meaning players can begin playing on September 27, 2021 rather than having to wait until October 1, 2021.

Other bonuses that come with the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22 include Dual Entitlement (free PlayStation 5/Xbox Series S/X upgrade), 4600 FIFA Points, Team of the Week 1 Player item, Kylian Mbappé Loan item, FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick and a Career Mode Homegrown Talent.

As part of the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22, players will also receive an untradeable Ones to Watch player item when the game officially launches on Friday, October 1.

An EA Play article, that has since been updated, seemed to confirm that this Ones to Watch item would be released in a ‘player pick’ pack, giving players the option to pick between a selection of OTW items. But, EA has now performed a U-turn on this, stating that this bonus item had been incorrectly described on their website.

But, EA has now performed a U-turn on this, stating that this bonus item had been incorrectly described on their website.

EA Sports have since updated the information regarding this special pre-order bonus, meaning players will simply earn a random untradeable OTW player and will not be given a choice of player. A player pick item sees the game generate a number of cards, from which players can pick their preferred choice of player.

EA’s FIFA Direct Communication Twitter posted on Saturday, September 18 saying, “It was brought to our attention that there was some conflicting information shared around the OTW pre-order bonus.

“In particular, an EA Help article that mentioned an incorrect type of OTW pack. We have since updated the article to accurately reflect the correct pre-order bonus.”

This update to the Ones to Watch pre-order bonus has left FIFA fans disappointed, with many taking to social media to share their frustration with EA Sports.

A number of responses showed disappointment and anger towards EA Sports after the U-turn, which will leave players who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition feel like they have been short-changed.
