Lorraine Kelly discussed the upcoming Vigil finale with Ria Hebden on her ITV chat show and revealed she was no longer watching the BBC One show
Lorraine Kelly has said she has fallen behind on Vigil as was finding Suranne Jones’ role in the drama “really annoying”.
The ITV magazine show presenter previewed the weekend’s television with entertainment journalist Ria Hebden on Friday morning’s show.
One of the show’s to be brought up was the hit BBC One thriller Vigil which centres on conspiracies and a murder mystery aboard a British navy submarine.
The show follows DCI Amy Silva, played by Doctor Foster actress Suranne Jones, as she investigates
Ria asked Lorraine: “So, Vigil, are you watching this because this is epic?”
Lorraine then revealed: “Well, I’m behind.”
“This is one to binge-watch,” commented Ria, “this is currently the BBC’s most-watched drama of the year so far.”
Ria described the show for newcomers and also mentioned the scary cliffhanger from last Sunday’s instalment.
It was noted that the promotional images for the final episode do not include Suranne Jones as DCI Amy Silva, calling into question whether they will survive.
“May be a double bluff,” theorised Lorraine.
Lorraine then said of Suranne: “I do love her – Gentleman Jack remains my favourite thing in the world – but she’s really annoying me in that which is why I’ve not kept up with it but I definitely will.”
The first-look promo images for the Vigil finale have focused on the investigations of Amy Silva’s on-off lover DI Kirsten Longacre on land, while images from the HMS Vigil tease continued drama aboard the submarine.
However, the fate of Amy Silva remains up in the air after she was trapped inside a torpedo tube that was being prepared to launch her to her death as it fills with water.
Will Amy escape alive?
*Lorraine airs on weekday mornings at 9am on ITV with previous episodes available on ITV Hub, while Vigil concludes at 9pm on BBC One with previous instalments available on BBC iPlayer.
