Max Bowden has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend.
The EastEnders star – who plays Ben Mitchell on the BBC One soap – has been dating Roisin Buckle, 36, since May and over the weekend, he shared the first snap of his new beau online.
Roisin has been a “great comfort” to Max after a year of heartbreak, as he lost a very close friend earlier this year and his best friend also passed away back in September.
He posted a photo of his girlfriend enjoying a drink with him in the pub as he poked fun at her for wearing sunglasses inside, captioning the sweet snap: “Glasses inside? Unnecessary no?”
A source told MailOnline : “Max and his gorgeous girlfriend Roisin have been together since May.
“Roisin has been a great comfort to Max, who’s suffered a lot of heartbreak recently, with the loss of a close friend in June, and then devastatingly his best friend last month.”
Before Roisin, Max was dating Danielle McCarney, who an insider confirmed he split from back in June.
The source said at the time: “Max and Danielle’s split had been on the cards for a while.
“The relationship was a whirlwind at the start but ran into trouble a few months ago. They tried to make it work but they decided to remain friends. Nobody else was involved.”
In February this year, Max lost his agent and manager Terry Mills after he contracted Covid during a business trip to Mexico whilst he also lost his best friend following a battle with depression.
Speaking as he shared a GoFundMe page to raise money for the funeral of his pal Luke Goodings, he wrote: “Hi all, feel sick I’m having to do this again but want to give our Luke the send-off he deserves.

“We’re trying to raise funds for Luke’s funeral and I’d really appreciate any donation big or small to help us with the costs. Sending everybody love and remember you’re not alone. Talk if you need to. Luke, we love you.”
Max described his friend as “fiercely loyal” in a sweet tribute.
“On Sunday 6th June we very sadly lost our Luke Goodings to depression, something none of us foresaw coming,” he wrote.
“A fiercely loyal friend, brother and boyfriend, Luke always put everyone else first, even when it got him into trouble.”
