Meghan and Harry ‘went extra mile’ for Archie’s birthday before new baby arrives

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle splashed out on touching gifts for Archie’s second birthday in an effort to go the “extra mile” before his sister is born, it has been claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex ensured their son’s big day on Thursday was one to remember with heavily pregnant Meghan due to go into labour in the summer.

The young royal was given new toys and clothes and a sweet note from his parents, according to reports.

It comes after former Hollywood actress Meghan made her first TV appearance since she and Harry’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview was aired on March 7.

The Duchess appeared as part of the Global Citizen VAX Live concert with a pre-recorded video message in which she said women had been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19.

The event was televised on Saturday night in the US.

“They made [his] card themselves and wrote a sweet poem inside, splashed out on gifts — including outdoor toys — and have bought him the cutest birthday outfit!”

The couple, who live in an £11million mansion in Montecito, California, after stepping down as working royals last year, are said to be keen to teach their toddler about the importance of charity and community.
