The Queen has given up martinis and gin on medical advice, it’s claimed

The Queen has given up martinis and gin on medical advice to watch TV with her friend Mabel, according to reports.

She is still undertaking light duties, but is reported to be “knackered” and has “given up lunchtime gin and evening martini” after receiving the advice from her doctorx, it’s claimed.

Earlier this month OK reported she had been asked to give up her tipples.

And now sources tell the Sunday Times she will instead watch TV with her friend Mabel Anderson,.

She is said to enjoy spending time with fellow 95-year-old and royal nanny who looked after the Queen’s own children.

A source said: “The Queen rings her up sometimes and Mabel goes and watches television with her. They are very cosy.”

The Sunday Times reported that 95 year old monarch is “knackered” and her private plans have been as busy as her public engagements in the last month.

The paper reported that “a constant flow of lunches and dinners with family and friends, because the Queen does not want to dine alone”.

It’s been a tough year for the monarch who was isolating at Windsor during the pandemic and earlier this year lost her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, whom had been her companion for 73 years.

It also said Queen Elizabeth wants to “keep busy but dry” and has ditched her lunchtime gin and Dubonnet and evening Martini on medical advice.

The source said: “She is fine, but needs the rest – she is saving her energy for Cop.”

Cop26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, is being held at the beginning of next month in Glasgow and the Queen is expected to attend the event which will be attended by world leaders.

OK said Buckingham Palace had declined to comment.

The Queen was reportedly recently advised to go easy on the martinis after doctors advised her to only drink on special occasions.

The move, according to OK, was to ensure she stays as as healthy as possible ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebration in June next year.

She has a busy time coming up with her Platinum Jubilee next year.

The government has confirmed hat the May Bank Holiday Weekend will be moved to Thursday, June 2 to mark the Queen’s 70th year on the throne,

This weekend will also be extended to include the day after.
