A young woman has taken to social media to share her terrifying experience after she stopped her car to move two wheelie bins out of the road, only to spot ‘people running at her from an alley’.

The incident occurred in the early hours in Peckham, South London, in what she described as a ‘tactic to get people out of their car for god knows what reason.’

Izzy Boyle, 22, posted the warning video on TikTok explaining how she got out of her vehicle to move the blockade in the road, The Sun reports.

In the footage a blue wheelie bin can be seen blocking the road as she brings her car to a stop.

Speaking in the video Izzy said: ‘I was driving through Peckham last night at about 2am and I think that everyone should be aware of this, especially women.

‘I came across, there was an island in the middle of the road and there was a bin on either side of it so that no cars could pass through either lane.

She added: ‘I thought this was just a prank so I got out to move the bin. As soon as I got out I heard rustling and I looked over and there were people coming out of a side alley.

‘I jump back in my car and I thought oh my god this is actually a tactic to get people out of their car for god knows what reason but whatever it is it’s not a good reason.’

Izzy concluded: ‘I just want everyone to be aware if you see a bin in the road or whatever, turn around, push it with your car just do not get out.’

The worrying video has garnered a lot of attention online, especially with female viewers.

Responding to the clip one woman said: ‘Adding this to the list of things to be scared of being a woman. Sick of it.’

Another added: ‘Was in Croydon and this happened. Drove through them. Thank you for letting people know.’

A third commented sarcastically: ‘It’s ok becuase we can always wave a bus down’.

The video, which has almost 60,000 views, comes a week after Metropolitan Police constable Wayne Couzens, 48, was handed a life sentence for the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard, 33.

The high-profile case has plunged the Met into a crisis as women across the country fear for their safety.

Today, a second officer working in the Parliamentary Protection Unit has appeared in court charged with rape.

PC David Carrick, 46, has been suspended from the Met following accusations he raped a women he met on the dating app Tinder.

Carrick emphatically denies the rape allegation.

Met Chief Cressida Dick said: ‘I am deeply concerned to hear the news today that an officer from the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command has been arrested and now charged with this serious offence.’

‘I fully recognise the public will be very concerned too.’

She added: ‘Criminal proceedings must now take their course so I am unable to comment any further at this stage.’
